  • For ages 8+, or for those who have completed Level 1 course.

  • Total of 8 sessions per course.

  • Build intermediate robotics models using Lego Mindstroms NXT and programming with NXT-G software.

  • Build robots with different sensors and program them to move in different directions and respond to sensor inputs.

  • For ages 9 to 10 who have completed Level 2 course.

  • Total of 8 sessions per course.

  • Build more complicated robots and program them to respond to multiple sensors, using Lego Mindstroms NXT programming blocks.

Advance Project / Young Inventor

Ages 9-10 (completed Level 3)

  • For ages 9 to 10 who

    • have completed Level 3 course; 

    • ​have knowledge of key Lego Mindstroms NXT robotics parts;

    • can program NXT-G independently using Common Palette Blocks;

    • can attend on a regular basis.

  • Total of 8 sessions per course.

  • 2 hours per session.

  • Design and create own robot using Lego Mindstroms NXT, complete with a brief introduction and video presentation of the project.

  • For ages 9+, or those who have completed Level 4.

  • An introduction to Lego SPIKE Prime system.

  • Build and program simple robots, using the SPIKE Prime app.

  • Apply knowledge of force, color and ultrasonic sensors.

  • Meet criteria in terms of size and number of sensors used.

  • Apply engineering concepts in robot design.

  • Present project in a video recording.

  • For ages 12+ who are keen to develop their programming skills and able to work independently.

  • Total of 8 sessions per course.

  • 2 hours per session.

  • Design, build and program own Lego Mindstroms EV3 robot to perform specific tasks.

  • Prepare an introduction and video presentation of the project.​

  • Programming tracks include:

    • mOwayWorld programming for mOway mini-robots;

    • Scratch programming for mOway or Lego Mindstroms NXT robots;

    • Robot for Lego Mindstroms NXT and EV3;

    • Arduino Robotics and C++ programming;

    • Raspberry Pi programming, using Python and Scratch.

Micro:Bit Robotics
Ages 9+

  • For ages 9+.

  • Total of 8 sessions per course.

  • Introduction to Micro:Bit and coding.

  • Program Micro:Bit using block method.

  • Build and program a Micro:Bit robot (GiggleBot) for autonomous and remote-controlled movements.

Robotics Competition Preparation
$520 for 8 sessions, plus
competition registration fees*

  • Competitions include First Lego League (FLL), National Robotics Competition (NRC), IDE Series and RIC; *registration fees vary.

  • Only for regulars who have completed several requirements and strictly by invitation.

  • Invitees will represent Robotics Connection in a team.

  • Must strive to attend all sessions as part of the team training.

  • 2 hours per session.
